It has happened

That is right all! I finally made it to England....and what a trip it was. After a good visit with my parents in North Carolina, I flew out of Charlotte on Sunday. (Good tip....don't bring too much luggage...I had 4 bags and must have carried them further than I thought possible.)
Any ways.. after one really long flight into Munich...which was pretty cool...and then a short hop to Heathrow, I made it through with no scratches and only a slightly embarrassed look (I didn't fill out a quick form at Customs).

After about 2 hours of hauling bags, jumping trains, and looking lost, I made it to Southend-on-sea (which for all of you who don't know is the biggest tourist trap here!) It is a fun place with the world's longest pier and a great amusment park.

I have to admit, getting used to prices is hard because I spend all of my time thinking about how much I am getting ripped off in US Dollars. It happens when I am trying to plan out my day.

So, I am staying in a bed and breakfast and they weren't kidding when they told me that in Europe, things are smaller. For example, my bathroom doesn't have a shower stall, just a hole in the floor.

Other than that, things are going well. It is pleasent here and I was obviously able to find internet to work from. I will be going to meet with people from the school soon, so more to come. I will post up pictures by this weekend and some more information.

I expect I will have more to talk about later on, but for right now, that is about all I can handle.

Take care all and I will be chatting later
